Event ID: 25 Title: Catalyzing Biodiversity Conservation and Social Transformation – Evidence from UNESCO Biosphere Reserves
The event will feature several short presentations introducing a current publication project. Collecting evidence from over twenty biosphere reserves, we present scientific research about BRs as catalysts of biodiversity conservation and actors of social transformation toward sustainability. We assess BRs role in pioneering new collaborative governance mechanisms and equity-based international cooperation and discuss emerging concepts for strengthening the MAB programme.
