The UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme is embarking on a transformative journey to shape its future through the development of a new Strategy and Action Plan, set to guide the global network of biosphere reserves from 2026 onward.

The UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme, established in 1971, promotes the sustainable management of biodiversity and human-nature interactions.

The Man and the Biosphere (MAB) programme operates under the guidance of UNESCO Member States, and its International Coordinating Council (MAB-ICC, also known as MAB Council) is its main governing body.

Side events will be scheduled from 13:15 to 14:45 or after plenary sessions from 18:15 to 19:45, between 22^th and 24^th September.
