The new strategy and action plan

The UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme is embarking on a transformative journey to shape its future through the development of a new Strategy and Action Plan, set to guide the global network of biosphere reserves from 2026 onward.

World Congress of Biosphere Reserves

The UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme, established in 1971, promotes the sustainable management of biodiversity and human-nature interactions.

MAB-ICC

The Man and the Biosphere (MAB) programme operates under the guidance of UNESCO Member States, and its International Coordinating Council (MAB-ICC, also known as MAB Council) is its main governing body.

SIDE-EVENT

Side events will be scheduled from 13:15 to 14:45 or after plenary sessions from 18:15 to 19:45, between 22^th and 24^th September.

EXHIBITION

From 22^th–25^th September, 2025, the venue can host up to 50-100 booths depending on the applications and customization needs.
