Event ID: 21 Title: Role of Biosphere Reserves for Mitigating Human-Nature Conflict
For a long time, the MAB Programme has sought to address the human-nature conflict by promoting sustainable society rather than protection. Although it has influenced international conventions and advanced the idea of 'living in harmony with nature', the programme remains relatively unknown beyond its own community, particularly among youth. This event will highlight ways to reduce conflicts with recovering wildlife, advance participatory science and digital tools, and enhance climate action in BRs. Intergenerational dialogue between senior experts and students will provide fresh perspectives and aim to improve communication of achievements and strengthen engagement in addressing human–nature challenges (https://ecorisk.web.fc2.com/WCBR250924_ID21.html).

The MAB Programme addresses human–nature conflict through sustainability, reflecting this idea in international conventions, though it remains little known. This event will highlight human-wildlife conflict reduction, participatory science, digital tools, and climate action in BRs, while fostering intergenerational dialogue to strengthen engagement with 'living in harmony with nature' (https://ecorisk.web.fc2.com/WCBR250924_ID21.html).
