Event ID: 73 Title: Voices of Nature: empowering women and educating for the future in Emilia-Romagna's Biosphere Reserves
The Emilia-Romagna Region supports collaboration among its three Biosphere Reserves through the UNESCO MAB Programme, using water as a unifying theme. This initiative promotes shared goals, local traditions, and sustainable development while fostering community engagement. Two key projects stand out: Women&Biosphere, which strengthens female leadership and networks to advance gender equality (SDG 5), and School&Biosphere, which enhances educational tourism, empowering young people to appreciate and protect natural and cultural landscapes (SDG 4). Together, they represent a replicable model that contributes to the UN 2030 Agenda by combining quality education with gender equality for future generations.
