UNESCO official hails China's biosphere reserves as 'global model'
During the 5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, the secretary of UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Programme, Antonio Abreu, praised China's 34 diverse biosphere reserves as exemplary models demonstrating how socio-economic development can coexist with environmental conservation.
